Whether looking for a new place to call home or just planning a visit, rest assured that anyone would find Roscoe Village a vibrant yet peaceful place to enjoy.
Roscoe Village, a little corner of the Lakeview Community, was officially established in 1977. It has a wealth of boutiques, bars, local eateries, and restaurants that offer mouth-watering cuisines from Mediterranean, South American, and Thai. How about the vegetarian-menu at Victory’s Banner, a great alternative for meatless meals, including a wonderful brunch selection and plenty of vegan-friendly dishes. Needing a little more meat in your diet, Kitsch’n on Roscoe can hook you up with a tasty brunch, be prepared to line-up for it. This place is popular and by 11 am on a weekend, it is beginning to fill up. Be sure to check out Frasca Pizzeria and Wine Bar or La
Mora, another great option for Italian food. El Tinajon serves up excellent Guatemalan cuisine and Turkish cooking is the specialty at Turquoise Cafe. Thai Cafe offers flavorful delights from Southeast Asia.
For those of you who are of the “on-the-go” kind of cuisine, Roscoe Village can fill those needs too. To start with, there is the original Costello’s location (one located in Lincoln Square too). It is a terrific alternative to Quizno’s or Subway. Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches is right down the street and for dessert, there’s nothing better than frozen custard from Scooter’s, a family favorite. There is a Starbucks in Roscoe Village (quite a few actually), but for those who are a little more laid back, MoJoe’s Cafe Lounge can satisfy your caffeine cravings. If bubble tea is your cup of tea, BeBoBa Bubble Tea House is right around the corner with more than 50 varieties to choose from.
Many excellent public and private schools, childhood learning and entertainment centers, and parks make Roscoe Village a wonderful place for families.
Antiques Row is the largest collection of antique stores in the Midwest and it makes its home right here in Roscoe Village. Lazy Dog Antiques, Night and Day Vintage, Good Old Days Antiques, and Father Time Antiques will make those antique collectors feel like they are in heaven. If antiquing is not your deal, there are many cool shops and charming boutiques to satisfy your shopping needs. Collection Privee features designer clothes, Skyscraper Heels has ultra-hip shoe styles, and Cinnamon stocks accessories. Need a special something for that little one-Little Threads has the coolest in kids clothing and baby gear. Of Mutts and Men caters to your pampered pets. If it’s music you’re after, head to Hard Boiled Records and Video.
Planning a night out on the town, Four Moon Tavern is a cozy neighborhood haunt. You might even spy some of your favorite actors. You can enjoy bar food, jukebox, pool table, and outdoor seating at this quality local hangout. The Village Tap is another great spot for getting a drink and chilling with your friends. They have the bar, food, and beer garden combo. The great thing about their beer garden is – it’s open year-round.
Public transportation is pretty convenient between the CTA Brown Line train and bus routes that service the area. For more travel information, visit www.transitchicago.com.
